On Site Training for DDA Agencies
The purpose of the Medication Technician Training Program (MTTP) is to prepare the unlicensed assistive personnel/certified nursing assistants for certification as medication technicians. This training course is designed to provide a basic foundation for safe medication administration. Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) sets standards and regulations which govern the administration of medication in Maryland. This training course meets the requirement for unlicensed staff to administer medications in a community based setting for all agencies that are licensed by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). The MTTP course encompasses the entire curriculum developed by DDA in which TSRN utilizes: The revised and approved MTTP Student Manual for basic instruction and MTTP Instructor’s Manual for teaching aids such as: feedback exercises, study guides and final exams. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to apply for certification with the Maryland Board of Nursing as Medication Technicians (CMT).
